Andorra's INH Extends Renewable Energy Certification to Six More Public Housing Buildings

The National Housing Institute (INH) has extended its Llum Verda renewable energy certification, issued by FEDA, to six additional public housing buildings added to its portfolio this year.
The institute first received the label in 2024 for its headquarters in Andorra la Vella, verifying that electricity consumption derives from renewable sources. The certification now covers most buildings under INH management.
The latest properties to gain the distinction are Casa Aristot Mora at Ciutat de Valls 49 and 69, Gravada de Tobira 11-13, and Roureda de Sansa 8, all in Andorra la Vella; René Baulard 9 in Encamp; Avinguda Sant Joan de Caselles 99 in Canillo; and Borda Nova Fase I at Terra Vella 26-30 in Andorra la Vella.
Together with the headquarters, these sites consumed 174,606 kWh of renewable electricity, preventing 21,651.14 kg of CO₂ emissions. INH equates this environmental benefit to the annual CO₂ absorption of roughly 1,000 trees.
INH director Marta Alberch called the move a natural extension of the agency's sustainability efforts. She said renewing and broadening the certification across public housing and offices aligns with its environmental pledges and aids Andorra's shift toward renewable energy sources.
