Andorra's meteorological service has issued an orange alert for avalanche risk in the northern part of the Principality, effective until 6pm. A yellow alert for the same hazard covers the entire country until the same time.
The alerts follow overnight precipitation from a warm front that affected all areas and is expected to continue through midday and into the afternoon. The snow level will rise to 2,100 metres by midday as the front passes.
From evening onwards, clearer skies are forecast to develop gradually from south to north, with the night featuring a veiled sky from high, thin clouds. Moderate winds from the north-west will persist throughout the day.
