  • Average temperature 6.5°C, 2.4°C above normal; max 20.5°C, min -10.6°C.

  • Snow depth stayed above 70th percentile despite warming trends.

February 2026 marked Andorra's third wettest February since records began in 1950, with precipitation more than triple the long-term average, according to the monthly climate bulletin released Thursday by Acció Climàtica.

The month also ranked among the warmest on record, with an average temperature of 6.5°C—2.4°C above normal. More than half the days featured temperatures at least 3°C higher than average, including a peak anomaly of 6.3°C on 23 February. The highest reading hit 20.5°C at Borda Vidal on 26 February, while the lowest fell to -10.6°C at Tosa dels Espiolets in Soldeu (2,455m) on 15 February. Three days saw frost.

Early February extended the storm train that had hit the Principality since late December, fueled by low-pressure systems including Leonardo (2 February), Marta (5 February), Nils (10 February), Oriana (11 February), and Pedro (17 February). From mid-month, high-pressure conditions dominated, delivering sunny weather and morning thermal inversions, particularly between 22 and 26 February.

Rainfall totaled 98mm at the Feda power station, behind only 1971 (148.3mm) and 1978 (107.7mm). The highest accumulation reached 127.2mm at Bony de les Neres, with the lowest at 96mm in Borda Vidal. One station logged around 130mm per square metre.

Snow depth began the month above the 90th percentile, sustained by initial storms, but later warmth and dry spells lowered it—still above the 70th percentile at the end. Among the past decade's Februaries, only 2018 counted as cold; the rest were warm or very warm. The full bulletin, with detailed indicators, appears on Acció Climàtica and Meteo Andorra sites, along with the monthly water resource report.
