Spring weather has arrived in Andorra, with temperatures set to exceed 20 degrees Celsius for the first time this year. Forecasters predict highs of 22 degrees in Andorra la Vella tomorrow, rising from 18 degrees today. At 1,500 metres, maximums will surpass 18 degrees, while Pas de la Casa will see around 8 degrees.
The warm spell stems from high pressure moving in from the Atlantic, accompanied by an anticyclonic ridge. This system is bringing thermal inversions and unusually mild conditions for the season. The fine weather should hold until Wednesday night.
A weakened front will then cross the country, potentially delivering light precipitation in northern areas. Temperatures will drop sharply on Thursday, with highs in the capital limited to 10 degrees.
The weekend brought strong winds and fresh snow. The fiercest gusts hit 190 km/h at Fonts d'Arinsal, with 109 km/h recorded at Borda Vidal. New snow accumulations were significant in the north, including 43 cm at the Envalira antennas, 38 cm at Perafita, 29 cm at Solana or Font Verd, and 28 cm at Sorteny.
