Andorra awards €237,706 contract to dredge riu d'Ós

The Government of Andorra has awarded a €237,706.46 contract to Treballs Públics La Coma for dredging and sediment‑removal works on the riu d'Ós in the parish of Sant Julià de Lòria.

The intervention, part of the administration’s routine maintenance and preventive programme for the country’s waterways, will remove sediments accumulated in the riverbed—particularly after high‑water episodes or natural transport of materials—to restore hydraulic capacity and reduce the risk of incidents during intense rainfall. Officials say the works will help prevent blockages at sensitive points, improve flow, increase stability of the bed and banks, and strengthen the river’s resilience to adverse weather while protecting the surrounding environment.

The adjudicated price sits below the project’s initial estimate, which the Government described as a saving for the administration and evidence of “efficiency in the management of public resources.”

The works are scheduled to begin after the formalisation of the contract and to be completed within four months.
