The #MiradesAigua photography exhibition opened Monday afternoon at Illa Carlemany shopping centre in Andorra la Vella, showcasing 19 images that explore water's value from varied creative angles.

Organised by Andorra Sostenible with support from Illa Carlemany and Madriu-Perafita-Claror valley, the display forms part of activities marking World Water Day on Sunday 22 March. It aims to build environmental awareness through public participation, running until 29 March.

Visitors can vote for their preferred photograph during the exhibition, determining one of two winners. A jury comprising representatives from Andorra Sostenible, Illa Carlemany, the Environment and Sustainability Department, and Madriu-Perafita-Claror valley will select the other. Winners will be announced on 31 March.

At the opening, Sílvia Ferrer, director of the Environment and Sustainability Department, emphasised the need for collective reflection on water. She noted Andorra's privileged position regarding water availability and sanitation, while citing United Nations data that 1.8 billion people worldwide lack access to safe drinking water. The initiative underscores Andorra Sostenible's commitment to valuing this essential resource and promoting its preservation.
