The Fundació Privada Nostra Senyora de Meritxell is organising training sessions titled "Disability and Neurodevelopmental Disorders in Leisure and Community Settings" on April 18 and 25, running from 9am to 2:30pm at the Centre Cultural la Llacuna.

These jornadas target professionals who work with children and young people in leisure contexts, including playgroup monitors, toy libraries, sports camps, and extracurricular activities. The goal is to enhance their expertise and recognise their vital contribution to community inclusion.

The April 18 session will open with an overview of the Integra and Integra+ programmes, led by the Ministry of Social Affairs in collaboration with the foundation. These efforts promote participation in leisure spaces for children and youths aged 3 to 18 with disabilities.

Speakers include psychopedagogue Lucila Oberlander, who will explore leisure as a means of development and wellbeing for individuals with autism spectrum disorder, grounded in neurodiversity. Aprenem Autisme will address sports inclusion, while Autisme la Garriga will focus on interventions for high-support needs.

On April 25, the European Commission will present key EU disability policies. Dincat and Plena Inclusió Catalunya will offer conceptual guidance on inclusive leisure practices.

The sessions aim to strengthen community inclusion by empowering leisure professionals with specialised insights.
