The Andorran government has launched an updated version of the 'Mou-te per la teva salut' programme, focusing on youth at risk of social exclusion and people with disabilities through targeted, personalised sports activities. Officials seek to position Andorra as the first country with a fully active population by 2027, building on estimates that 80% currently participate in physical activity at some point.

Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Mònica Bonell presented the changes on Tuesday, tying them to UNESCO's 'Fit For Life' initiative. She stressed Andorra's compact size enables precise interventions impossible elsewhere, shifting from past efforts like the 2021 parish marches—which attracted 1,200 participants last year but are now suspended—and senior-focused actions to reach these harder-to-engage groups.

The public kickoff occurs Saturday, April 25, at Estadi Nacional with a family open day from 3pm to 7pm, featuring activities, RTVA's Club Piolet mascots and balls for the first 200 attendees. Bad weather would prompt rescheduling. Secretary of State for Youth and Sports Alain Cabanes described the bolstered social pillar as "precise and surgical," partnering with social services, Assandca, CREI, CRAE and El Cedre for case identification. Options range from federation sessions—via a list of about 40 choices, dubbed the "kings' menu"—to home visits for disengaged youth, with sustained monitoring to prioritise life-changing impact over numbers. "Even for three people, we will change their lives," he said.

Structured around four pillars—sport for all, education, business and social inclusion—the programme incorporates private events like SKIMO ski mountaineering, Cursa de la Dona, Marc GG and Rocanòlich. Adapted sports receive a dedicated push through a needs assessment to improve equipment, staffing and pathways to paralympic competition.

From September, primary schools will add 3-5 minute pre-class activation routines, supported by RTVA videos featuring Piolet and Violeta or elite athletes. Existing school events like Copa Col·legial basketball, plus volleyball, skiing and athletics, will continue.

The business pillar marks the sixth year of FitToken challenges and inter-company competitions, including 'La Champions de les empreses' football-7 at Ordino's Centre de Tecnificació Esportiva, now formally under the programme. Public facilities open progressively, starting with Estadi Nacional.

Andorra leads the European ALIS project with Spain, France and Portugal, targeting active mountain lifestyles for vulnerable youth in care. Cabanes called it the most dynamic partner, with two pilots completed (autumn and winter), a spring one ahead and four seasonal activities planned annually. These blend exercise, nature and guidance, such as dry stone wall restoration, which engaged two participants and led to tailored follow-ups in traditional crafts and careers. "It's about detecting skills that often don't emerge in conventional education," he noted. Further options include mountain camps, climbing and dog-sledding, framing mountains as cohesion tools. Partner nations now view Andorra's approach as a model.
