Andorra's Ministry of Health has recalled infant formula powders from Babybio and Damira Natur brands over risks of Bacillus cereus contamination in products imported from France.

The Babybio action, announced yesterday, covers Caprea Llet 1 Lactant BabyBio 800g packs in batches 899014 and 911057, which carry expiry dates into 2027. Prompted by a notification through the European rapid alert system for food and feed (RASFF), officials have pulled the items from shelves. Families holding these batches should refrain from using them, return them to retailers, and consult a paediatrician if an infant shows digestive symptoms like diarrhoea or vomiting after consumption. No cases of illness have been reported in Andorra.

Today, the ministry extended the recalls to Damira Natur 2 800g packs from batch 8000003302, due to possible presence of cereulide, a toxin linked to Bacillus cereus. The same RASFF alert triggered this step. Authorities advise against consumption, urge returns to points of sale, and recommend medical checks for any gastrointestinal issues in infants.

Both measures prioritise child safety amid ongoing European scrutiny of infant formulas. They follow a Nestlé product withdrawal several weeks earlier and fit a pattern of recent EU alerts on similar items.
