Andorra's Centres d'Atenció Primària (CAPs), operated by the Servei Andorrà d'Atenció Sanitària (SAAS), will introduce extended hours for blood draws and new pre-operative testing services starting Monday, 16 March.
From that date, patients at most CAPs can schedule blood extractions until noon on weekdays. The service will apply nationwide except at the Pas de la Casa CAP and the Fiter i Rosell CAP in Escaldes-Engordany, which will retain their current timetables.
All CAPs across Andorra will also conduct pre-operative assessments requested prior to surgery. These cover blood analysis and electrocardiograms, supported by newly installed equipment at every centre to perform the ECG tests.
SAAS requires advance appointments for both blood draws and pre-operative checks.
The updates support SAAS's strategic priorities of prioritising patient needs, enhancing primary care capabilities and minimising travel by delivering more diagnostic options directly at parish-level CAPs.
