Andorra Mental Health Wait Times: 6-12 Days for Adults, Up to 45 for Kids
Adult psychology appointments in Andorra available within 6-12 days, while child and adolescent services face waits up to 1.5 months due to high.
Key Points
- Adult psychology waits: 6-12 days, verified live with fictional profile.
- Child/adolescent psychology: up to 45-50 days due to demand and complexity.
- Psychiatry specialists handle 500-550 patients each, causing longest delays.
- 2026 budget adds psychology hours to shorten waiting lists.
Patients seeking adult psychology appointments in Andorra can typically book a slot within six to twelve days, while child and adolescent psychology and psychiatry consultations face waits of up to a month and a half.
Dr Joan Soler, head of the Mental Health and Addictions Service, shared these figures in an interview with the Andorran News Agency (ANA) in Andorra la Vella. To illustrate, he ran a real-time check using a fictional patient profile, contacting multiple adult psychologists. The first available appointments fell the following week.
"We checked it live with adult psychologists—the wait is six to twelve days," Soler explained.
For child and adolescent psychology, waits are longer due to high demand and case complexity but generally stay below 45 to 50 days, Soler noted. Psychiatry faces the heaviest load, with each specialist handling 500 to 550 patients, which extends delays further.
The service is taking steps to ease these pressures. The 2026 budget allocates additional psychology hours to cut waiting lists and boost care capacity.
