The Andorran Social Security Fund (CASS) has reported a 7% rise in healthcare reimbursements for the first nine months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, reaching nearly €113 million.
According to the entity's third-quarter financial statements, accessed by Altaveu, CASS disbursed €112.75 million in reimbursements up to 30 September 2025. This marks a significant increase from €105.4 million in 2024, €94 million in 2023, and €86.5 million in 2022. Officials attribute the upward trend to a growing number of insured individuals, alongside higher tariffs and treatment costs.
Hospitalisations accounted for the largest share, consuming almost 40% of the total at €42.7 million—an 11.5% jump from €38.29 million the previous year. Three other categories saw double-digit growth: surgery rose 11.7% to €3.89 million (from €3.48 million); dentistry increased 11.7% to €4.49 million (from €3.73 million); and orthopaedics climbed 11.5% to €1.75 million (from €1.58 million).
Several areas posted more modest gains. Diagnostic tests grew 8.6% to €6.6 million, medical transport 8.8% to €1.88 million, lab analyses 6.4%, primary care 4.6%, and radiology 3.3%. Assisted reproduction, newly covered since 2023, surged 63.3% to €107,290.
Only three categories recorded declines. Pharmacy reimbursements fell 2.2% to €13.55 million (from €13.86 million), add-ons dropped 4.6% to €127,000, and dental prostheses decreased 8.2% to €877,000 (from €956,000).
