Thaïs Mingorance Varela Appointed New Manager of Andorra Guardianship Foundation

The Fundació Privada Tutelar del Principat d’Andorra has appointed Thaïs Mingorance Varela, an HR specialist from the Servei Andorrà d’Atenció Sanitària (SAAS), as its new manager. She will take up the role this February to guide an organisation that has lacked clear leadership for some time.

Mingorance spent years as a key member of SAAS’s people management team. Her extensive experience in social services, healthcare, and personnel management—particularly in team leadership and organisational development—positions her to coordinate and drive the foundation’s activities forward.

The foundation currently provides guardianship and support to 79 people, including the elderly, those with disabilities, and individuals facing mental health challenges. It also runs the Joves en Inclusió (JEI) programme, which delivers specialised assistance to young people with autism spectrum disorder.

In a public statement, the foundation said the appointment strengthens its commitment to protecting, supporting, and defending the rights of vulnerable residents. It highlighted Mingorance’s professional and personal qualities as a step forward in improving service quality, pursuing ongoing enhancements, and bolstering care networks for those under its guardianship and their families. The organisation thanked families and partner institutions for their trust, while reaffirming its dedication to working with rigour, sensitivity, and proximity.
