Helena Vilà Naudí, a psychologist and founder of MentConscient, has identified workplace issues as the primary source of anxiety, stress, and distress among people in Andorra. Common concerns include heavy workloads, the feeling that efforts go unrewarded in pay, and challenges in relating to colleagues or managers. Many also hesitate to request improvements, such as salary raises, due to self-doubt or fear of confronting superiors.
Vilà emphasises that her approach focuses on better self-understanding rather than changing individuals. She notes a positive shift in recent years, with less stigma around admitting emotional struggles. "People used to find it harder to say they weren't well, but now there's less fear of acknowledging it and seeking help," she said.
MentConscient, launched in October 2025, draws from Vilà's background in human resources, leadership, and team management. The initiative serves both individuals and companies, prioritising team cohesion by uncovering shared values and cultural alignment. "If each member of a five-person team has different values, it's hard for them to work together effectively," Vilà explained. Her work involves pinpointing sources of discord and building connections that benefit both employees and organisations.
On Tuesday, 10 February, Vilà will deliver a talk at the Hotel Roc Blanc in Escaldes-Engordany as part of the Speaker’s Corner series. Titled around practical tools for managing anxiety, stress, and overwhelming thoughts, the session runs from 7pm to 8.30pm. It targets professionals and individuals seeking strategies to handle emotions and boost mental health.
