Andorra Outlet Sells Full Series of €600,000 Top Lottery Prizes from Spain's Draw 042

A full series of top-prize tickets from Spain's National Lottery draw 042, worth €600,000 in total, was sold at El Mag outlet in Andorra la Vella, with each of the 10 décimos claiming €60,000.

The winning number 70272 was validated at the administration on Doctor Nequi Street 2, near Plaça de les Arcades in the historic centre. According to Spain's State Lotteries and Betting agency, the same number was also sold at outlets in Barcelona, Sevilla and Maó, creating multiple winners nationwide. The tickets arrived at El Mag on Monday morning the previous week—a number the outlet had not subscribed to—and sold rapidly over the counter to local buyers.

Owner Àngel Garcia described the recipients as "needy people from the neighbourhood" and working locals, including long-time regulars who buy a décimo every Monday for the Saturday draw. On Monday, around half a dozen winners visited to confirm their prizes and share the joy, with staff staging celebratory checks for two unaware customers, complete with cheers and cava. One was Garcia's ill friend who had no idea of the win.

Garcia expressed satisfaction with the congratulations and noted a business uptick, as neighbours stopped by to celebrate and purchase more tickets. Winners must collect at Spanish banks like La Caixa or BBVA, which issue cheques or transfers to Andorran accounts. After taxes—exempt on the first €40,000, with 20% on the rest—each prize nets about €56,000.

The outlet has a history of payouts, including €3,000 from a Bonoloto and smaller prizes this May, though none as large for the National Lottery. The windfall has brought excitement to at least 10 local families.
