Police in Andorra detained a 52-year-old man in Encamp on Friday afternoon on suspicion of crimes against physical and moral integrity and against honour. The arrest followed an alert from the hospital under a purple code after he allegedly assaulted his mother and threatened her with a knife. During the police intervention, the man also insulted and threatened the officers involved.

Over the same weekend, authorities arrested two men for alleged crimes against public health related to drug possession. A 29-year-old was taken into custody on Sunday afternoon in Escaldes-Engordany shortly after his hospital discharge. He had been admitted on Saturday following a police alert over suspected drug use. Officers seized 1.7 grams of tusi and 15 doses of LSD from him at the time.

The second man, aged 57, was arrested late Sunday night at the Riu Runer border crossing as he entered the country. He was carrying 0.80 grams of tusi and nearly four grams of ketamina.

In addition, five men aged 19 to 51 were detained over the past week for driving under the influence of alcohol. Breath tests showed blood alcohol levels ranging from 0.88 to 1.86 grams per litre.
