Up to 260 candidates began the official Batxillerat exams on Monday, April 27, kicking off the written tests for the 2026 session under a new organizational model.

The Proves Oficials de Batxillerat (POB) drew 218 second-year Batxillerat students and 42 independent candidates, a stable figure compared to 2025's total of 265 participants (229 enrolled students and 36 independents). Exams started with the philosophy paper at the Sant Julià de Lòria Exam Centre, focusing on three of the four compulsory-block subjects—philosophy, Catalan, and English—with specific-subject tests held at candidates' own Batxillerat centres.

Paula Barreiro, head of Titulations, Official Exams, and Experience-Based Learning Validation, explained that the changes allow centres to "reinforce work done in educational settings and extend classroom time for students," adding that it addresses previously reduced teaching periods.

Catalan and English written exams are set for May 7 and 8 at the same Sant Julià centre, followed by oral communication tests on May 9 at the Santa Coloma Andorran Secondary School. Candidates will receive personalized schedules by email in advance.

Results are due for release on June 8, 2026, from 4 p.m.
