Work has begun this March on an eight-month renovation of the Government's administrative building in Andorra la Vella, targeting the main facade along Carrer Doctor Vilanova and Prat de la Creu. The Ministry of Territory and Urbanism is managing the €1,845,220.40 project, contracted to Pidasa Serveis SL.

The initiative extends prior refurbishments to the first and third floors, sections largely untouched for over four decades since their 1980s construction. Carried out in phases across zones, the work aims to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability by lowering consumption, while also improving safety, revamping ground- and first-floor outdoor areas and entrances, and increasing user comfort through better air quality and materials that absorb less heat.

Upgrades include replacing all window frames and metal finishes, adding insulation to key areas, renewing "talla fred" cladding, resurfacing exterior pavements, creating landscaped zones for facade vegetation, and installing new outdoor lighting. Iconic elements such as commemorative plaques, coats of arms, and building lettering will be restored to beautify the structure.

Officials emphasize minimizing disruptions to routine operations. No impacts are expected on staff movement, public access, or pedestrian flow on the adjacent sidewalk, including primary ground-floor entrances. Any changes will be announced in advance to allow coordination among employees, visitors, and contractors.
