Work has begun this March on an eight-month renovation project targeting the facade and exterior spaces of the Government's administrative building in Andorra la Vella, particularly the main side along Carrer Doctor Vilanova and Prat de la Creu. The Ministry of Territory and Urbanism is managing the €1,845,220.40 contract, awarded to Pidasa Serveis SL.

The initiative continues improvements made to the first and third floors, sections that had seen little update over the past four decades since their construction in the 1980s. Carried out in phases across designated areas, the project aims to lower energy use and boost sustainability, while enhancing safety, upgrading ground- and first-floor outdoor areas and entrances, and improving user comfort with better air quality and materials that absorb less heat.

Specific upgrades include replacing all window frames and metal fixtures, installing insulation at key points, renewing "talla fred" finishes, resurfacing exterior paving, creating landscaped zones to incorporate vegetation into the facade, and adding new outdoor lighting. Distinctive elements such as commemorative plaques, coats of arms, and building lettering will also undergo restoration for aesthetic enhancement.

Officials emphasize minimizing impact on routine operations. No effects are expected on staff or public circulation, ground-floor entrances, or the adjacent sidewalk. Any changes will prompt prior notifications to aid coordination among employees, visitors, and contractors.
