Andorra la Vella council has awarded AL Reformes a €47,818.52 contract to build a new entrance gate at the Horts Socials de la Margineda, a communal space dedicated to elderly residents.

The project aims to improve access, visibility, and signage for the gardens, which feature more than 45 plots and serve as a key outdoor meeting point for seniors' activities. The new gate will clearly mark the entrance, enhance the site's integration with the surrounding urban area, and highlight one of the parish's main gateways in the Margineda neighbourhood.

This follows a recent adaptation of the space to sustain the social gardens programme. Cllr Maria Nazzaro, responsible for social affairs, youth, and public spaces, described the gardens as an "emblematic project" cherished by older residents. She noted that the gate represents "a further step in recognising its importance and maintaining spaces that foster community interaction, healthy activities, and social bonds."

Officials say the work underscores efforts to dignify longstanding parish initiatives, strengthening the gardens' role in the local landscape.
