Andorra la Vella Social Services Relocates to Council Building in February

The Andorra la Vella social services department will relocate to a communal administrative building next February, local authorities have confirmed.

Currently based in rented ground-floor premises at Avinguda Príncep Benlloch 59, owned by a private individual, the department will move to the ground floor of the council's administrative building at Carrer Prat de la Creu 58-70. That space, previously occupied until October by the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley office—now relocated to Borda Gabriel in Escaldes-Engordany—belongs to the parish and forms part of its catalogue of historic buildings. The century-old structure has been purchased and renovated by the council.

Council officials highlighted improved accessibility and proximity to residents as the main advantages. The new site offers more space, on-site parking, and independent access within the building. It sits next to key family services, including the El Llamp children's centre, and includes better-equipped meeting rooms for confidential consultations. The move will also streamline internal coordination, cut staff travel, and support cross-departmental projects.

The relocation budget totals around €30,000, covering renovations, window installations, painting, and cabling for workstations. It will deliver ongoing savings by eliminating the current €877 monthly rent, promoting more efficient use of public funds.

Initially, the office will house a team of six staff members, along with the social councillor's workspace. Maria Nazzaro serves as consellera de Social. The department employs 101 professionals out of the parish's total workforce of about 500, handling direct citizen support as well as ongoing service improvements and collaborative initiatives.
