Andorra la Vella's senior consul, Sergi González, confirmed on Wednesday that two additional towers will be built in the city centre, adding to the pair already under construction directly in front of the National Bus Station.
Speaking to Ràdio Nacional, González noted that the projects were already included in the previous urban planning framework. He addressed concerns about the developments, which have faced criticism for allegedly harming the surrounding environment.
"People have portrayed these towers as if they were destroying the area, and I can understand that perspective," González said. "But there are other places with tall buildings too—what has been achieved? More space for residents and greater porosity in the urban fabric."
The announcement underscores ongoing efforts to expand housing and public areas amid Andorra la Vella's dense city centre. The existing towers are progressing as planned, with the new ones set to integrate into the same zone.
