Police in Andorra detained a 41-year-old non-resident man in Escaldes-Engordany on Tuesday morning, confirming his role as the fourth member of an organized gang linked to a series of storage unit break-ins last year.

The suspect faces charges of crimes against property and public order. Officers from the Heritage Crimes Unit had identified him months earlier during an investigation that resulted in three other arrests at the end of November. With a judicial warrant already issued, police located and apprehended him upon learning of his return to the Principality.

The group targeted storage facilities in Andorra's central valley from August to November. They rented one unit online to secure the building's access code, then pried open padlocks on others, stole valuables, and resealed them to avoid immediate detection. Investigators believe more victims may come forward, as some losses went unnoticed initially.

During the gang's last operation, officers caught three members in the act, seized their vehicles, and recovered specialized tools for break-ins, watch disassembly, and gold purity testing. The prompt response stopped additional thefts.

Reported damages from complaints now stand at around €90,000. All four suspects have criminal records for similar offenses in multiple European countries. The probe remains active.
