Andorra ranks as the fourth fastest-growing European destination for international tourist arrivals since 2019, according to the latest UN Tourism World Tourism Barometer. Globally, the Principality placed 17th, with a 42% increase in visitors who stayed overnight.
Tourism Minister Jordi Torres highlighted the sector's steady recovery, noting projections for 2025 of 12 million overnight stays and around 10 million tourists—a 0.5% rise from 2024. In 2024, Andorra welcomed 9.6 million visitors, including 4.1 million tourists, securing second place in Europe for post-pandemic growth at 35%.
The UN Tourism data shows worldwide international tourist arrivals reached 1.52 billion in 2025, up 4% from the previous year and nearly 60 million more than 2024. Andorra trailed Albania (+89%), Uzbekistan (+73%) and Malta (+44%) in Europe, while outpacing Luxembourg (+34%) and Iceland (+33%). On the global list, it followed Guatemala (+44%) but surpassed the US Virgin Islands (+42%), Dominican Republic (+35%) and Aruba (+34%). Top worldwide performers included Bhutan (+198%), Qatar (+138%) and El Salvador (+92%).
Looking ahead, UN Tourism forecasts 3-4% global growth in 2026, assuming continued recovery in Asia-Pacific, stable economic conditions and no escalation in geopolitical conflicts. This would mark a return to normalised rates after sharp rebounds of 34% in 2023 and 11% in 2024.
Separately, Andorra's passport climbed to 14th in the Henley Passport Index for early 2026, based on International Air Transport Association data. Holders can access 170 destinations visa-free, behind leaders like Singapore (192), Japan and South Korea (188), Spain (186), France and Portugal.
