Andorra's AR+I Joins International Science Council as Category 2 Member

Andorra Recerca + Innovació (AR+I) has joined the International Science Council (ISC) as a Category 2 member, a move the organization describes as a significant advance in its international standing and Andorra's presence in the global research and innovation ecosystem.

The ISC, the premier independent international scientific body, views science as a global public good and unites more than 250 institutions worldwide, including national academies, research councils, and leading scientific organizations. It serves as a platform to drive science in addressing major global challenges by ensuring universal access to scientific knowledge, data, and expertise.

AR+I's Category 2 status recognizes its active role in developing and applying knowledge at the national level. The membership opens doors to key international scientific debates, contributions to working groups, and new collaboration opportunities. It also enables participation in ISC core activities, such as periodic meetings with the presidency, members-only events, and nomination processes for governing bodies and expert panels.

The organization anticipates attending the next intermediate members' meeting in Beijing in October 2026, themed "Science in a Complex World: Science for a Better Future."

AR+I announced the affiliation via its website, emphasizing how it strengthens its commitment to generating scientific knowledge, transferring it to society, and connecting Andorra to international research networks. The step aligns with the entity's strategy to foster innovative solutions with real societal impact.
