The Andorran government has adjusted the schedule for official Catalan language exams to accommodate a surge in registrations this January and ensure smooth administration of the tests.
A total of 930 candidates signed up, nearly 200 more than the 740 recorded in January 2024. The increase prompted the Department of Language Policy to reschedule A2-level exams separately from the others, according to RTVA reports.
Exams for A1, B1, B2, and C1 levels will proceed as originally planned on Friday, January 23, and Saturday, January 24. The A2 exams, however, have been moved to Friday, February 6, and will take place exclusively at the testing centre in Sant Julià de Lòria.
On that date, written tests are set for 11:00 to 12:35, with oral exams following throughout the day based on each candidate's assigned slot.
The department emphasised that the official Catalan exams are open to anyone over 16, whether residents or non-residents of the Principat, seeking formal certification of their language proficiency.
