Andorra recorded 302 active agricultural holdings at the end of 2025, a slight drop from 352 two years prior and 308 the previous year, according to data released Tuesday by the Statistics Department and Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. The sector continues to underpin the Principality's landscapes and traditions, with Sant Julià de Lòria maintaining its lead at 61 holdings, or 34% of total usable agricultural area (SAU).

Of the total, 108 operations involve income-generating livestock, while 194 lack such activity. Parish breakdowns show la Massana second overall with 53 holdings, followed by Canillo (51), Encamp and Ordino (38 each), Andorra la Vella (34), and Escaldes-Engordany (27). For livestock operations, Sant Julià de Lòria tops the list with 28, ahead of Canillo (23) and Encamp, Ordino, and la Massana (14 each). Non-livestock holdings are led by la Massana (39), Sant Julià de Lòria (33), and Canillo (26).

Horses lead in number of holdings at 60, followed by sheep (44) and cattle (42). Livestock totals reached 4,635 head in 2023, up slightly from 4,564 the prior year but below 4,959 in 2020. Sheep dominate headcounts at 2,801, ahead of cattle (1,322, stable despite a minor dip), equines (571, up from earlier years with gains in Encamp, Ordino, and Sant Julià de Lòria), and goats (322). Cattle trends show declines since 2020 (from 1,502 to 1,322 head, including cows from 1,440 to 1,359), while equines grew steadily to 590 by 2023. Sheep fell overall to 2,248 but rebounded last year, with Canillo surging to 971 while Sant Julià de Lòria and Encamp dropped. Goats reached 368 amid fluctuations, led by la Massana's rise.

Apiculture remained stable with 26 operations and 416 hives, mainly in Canillo for personal use.

Operator ages signal renewal issues: most fall in the 51-60 group (28) or 61-70 (24), with only one under 30, though seven young delegates hint at family continuity.

Pastures dominate cultivated land at over 13.4 million square metres (69% of SAU). Tobacco leads annual crops above 1 million square metres. Permanent crops diversify, with vineyards at 77,360 square metres in Sant Julià de Lòria and Ordino, fruit trees at 21,662 square metres, and emerging options like truffles, turnips, and berries.
