Andorra's gender pay gap remained at 547 euros in 2024, with men earning an average gross monthly salary of 2,832 euros and women 2,286 euros, according to the latest figures from the Department of Statistics released on Friday ahead of International Women's Day.
Both averages rose from 2023, with men's pay up 4.8% and women's increasing by 5.9%. Over the previous five years, women's average stood at 2,055 euros, compared to 2,595 euros for men. The labour force averaged 23,361 salaried men and 21,436 women last year, reflecting growth of 2.8% and 1.8% respectively from the prior year. Men have made up 51.4% of the resident population on average over that period, with women at 48.6%. The total population reached 87,097 as of 31 December 2024, comprising 45,133 men and 41,964 women.
Women maintain a higher life expectancy, averaging 86.2 years at birth over five years versus 81.1 years for men—a 5.1-year difference. The overall national average is 83.7 years.
In education for the 2024-2025 academic year, pre-higher education had 11,259 students (5,751 boys and 5,508 girls), while higher education enrolled 2,231 (1,167 men and 1,064 women). Births totalled 501, including 254 girls (up 14.9% from 2023) and 247 boys (up 4.2%).
Sports licences for the season reached 9,857, with 7,051 for men and 2,806 for women. Among grant-funded high-performance athletes, 34 were men and 19 women.
Women dominate public administration (1,681 women and 1,187 men, or 58.6%) and volunteering (198 women and 83 men in 2024; about two-thirds female in recent years).
Immigration added 4,591 people (60.4% men), while 2,717 emigrated, also mostly men. Traffic accidents involved 259 victims, with men more heavily represented.
