Andorra's gender pay gap stood at 547 euros in 2024, as men earned an average gross monthly salary of 2,832 euros compared to 2,286 euros for women, according to the Department of Statistics' latest data released Friday ahead of International Women's Day.
The figures show gains for both groups from 2023, with men's pay rising 4.8% and women's by 5.9%. Over the past five years, women's average pay reached 2,055 euros, against 2,595 euros for men. The 2024 workforce averaged 23,361 salaried men—a 2.8% increase from the previous year—and 21,436 women, up 1.8%. Men accounted for 51.4% of residents on average over that five-year span, women 48.6%. The population hit 87,097 by 31 December 2024, with 45,133 men and 41,964 women.
Women continue to outlive men, with a five-year average life expectancy at birth of 86.2 years versus 81.1 years—a gap of 5.1 years. The national average stands at 83.7 years.
In the 2024-2025 academic year, pre-higher education enrolled 11,259 students (5,751 boys, 5,508 girls), while higher education had 2,231 (1,167 men, 1,064 women). Births totaled 501, with 254 girls (up 14.9% from 2023) and 247 boys (up 4.2%).
Sports participation remained male-dominated, with 9,857 licences issued for the 2024-2025 season—7,051 for men and 2,806 for women. Among grant-funded high-performance athletes, 34 were men and 19 women.
Women led in public administration, comprising 1,681 of 2,868 staff (58.6%), and volunteering, with 198 women and 83 men in 2024—around two-thirds female in recent years.
Immigration brought 4,591 people (60.4% men), while 2,717 left, also mostly men. Traffic accidents affected 259 victims, with men more heavily involved.
