Key Points
- 33.5% of residents have post-secondary qualifications, up 3pp from 2023.
- Bachelor's-level degrees rose to 15.3%; 42.6% still below secondary level.
- 59% of 30-34-year-olds completed higher education, exceeding EU 43.5% average.

One-third of Andorra's residents held higher education qualifications in 2024, marking a three-percentage-point rise from the previous year, according to the latest Education Indicators report from the Statistics Department.
The figure of 33.5% for those with post-secondary qualifications reflects an ongoing upward trend in the principality's educational attainment. This gain has coincided with declines in lower education levels: 9.5% of the population reported no formal studies or only incomplete preschool or primary education, while 11.2% had completed primary schooling alone. Overall, 42.6% of residents still have qualifications below secondary level, compared to 57.3% who have progressed further.
Within higher education, the share of individuals with 240-credit university degrees—equivalent to bachelor's-level diplomas—jumped from 11.8% to 15.3%. Doctorate holders edged up slightly to 0.6% from 0.5%, though those with master's degrees or higher licences dipped to 11.2%. Vocational training at higher levels accounted for 6.4% of the population.
Despite these domestic advances, Andorra trails its neighbours. In Spain, 42.2% of people aged 25-64 had university education in 2023, per INE data, while France recorded 44% according to INSEE.
Encouragingly, younger cohorts show stronger performance. Among 30- to 34-year-olds, 59% in Andorra have completed higher education—well above the EU average of 43.5%—signalling potential for the principality to narrow the gap with neighbouring standards and bolster its human capital for future competitiveness.
