Andorra's vehicle fleet expanded to 104,700 at the end of 2025, up 3.6% from 101,024 the previous year, according to the Department of Statistics. Passenger cars drove the growth, rising 3.7% to 70,657 units—an increase of 2,497 vehicles. Motorcycles and mopeds reached 19,767, a 3.7% gain of 707 units, while trucks and vans climbed 5.7% to 7,613, adding 408 vehicles. Other vehicles totaled 6,663, up 1%.
Gasoline-powered vehicles held 50% of the fleet, followed by diesel at 39.7%. Electric vehicles surged, with fully electric models hitting 1,331—a 23.2% rise of 251 units, or 1.3% of the total. Hybrids, including plug-in varieties, grew 34.6% to 5,118, adding 1,315 units. The electric vehicle ratio stood at 27.5 per 1,000 vehicles, up about 23% from 2024.
The fleet's average age increased 1.3% to 16.2 years, with older vehicles proliferating: passenger cars over 20 years old numbered 22,050. Per resident ratios also rose, reaching 1,175.6 vehicles per 1,000 inhabitants—793.4 cars and 222 motorcycles or mopeds per 1,000.
These trends coincide with record visitor numbers. The seasonal population hit 17,262,728, a 6.8% increase, averaging 47,295 non-residents daily. The floating population totaled 14,452,341, up 10.3%, with monthly averages of 1,288,178—a 9.8% rise from 1,172,989 in 2024. Equivalent population, reflecting service demand, reached 130,379, up 4.8% from 124,459 and the highest in five years. Daily effective population averaged 136,000, 53% above the 89,058 official residents.
Visitor peaks occurred in August and the December-to-March ski season, straining infrastructure alongside the growing vehicle numbers. Lowest demand hit in April and May.
