In the early hours of the morning in Andorra la Vella, police responded to a call from a young man reporting disturbances caused by a housemate. Officers arrived at the shared apartment around 3am and met the caller along with two other flatmates.
The three residents explained they had been asleep when the fourth tenant returned heavily intoxicated. He immediately turned on loud music and the television at high volume, waking everyone. When confronted, an argument escalated quickly. The man grabbed kitchen knives and threatened his flatmates, shouting phrases including "I'm going to kill you" and "Don't sleep easy tonight because I'm going to kill you."
The others tried to calm him, prompting him to tuck the knives into the back of his trousers. He then flew into a rage, slashing the tires of one flatmate's bicycle with the blades. He also smashed a wardrobe, hurling it to the floor, destroyed a PlayStation console, damaged the television, and wrecked the refrigerator. The three flatmates fled the apartment.
Police gained entry using keys from another resident and found the suspect inside along with three knives measuring 19cm, 18.5cm, and 15cm in blade length. He was arrested on the spot.
A court sentenced the man to two and a half months in conditional prison, meaning no immediate incarceration provided conditions are met.
