The residential educational action centre (CRAE), better known as La Gavernera, received a solidarity cheque for €3,098.71 on Friday. The sum was raised during World Children’s Day events held at McDonald’s restaurants across the country.
The Pyrénées Group, represented by its president Patrick Pérez and Alexandra Pérez, handed the proceeds to Minister of Social Affairs Trini Marin, Secretary of State Ester Cervós Isern, and Director of Childhood and Adolescence Laura Mas. Minister Marin thanked the group on behalf of the Andorran government, stressing the increasing need for solidarity.
Director Laura Mas said the funds will be used for the children’s benefit, to finance activities they choose, such as summer camps or winter excursions selected by the children themselves.
