- €10,000 contract to Jordi Huerta Ferran's firm for site-only time-lapse over two years.
- Mayor clarifies no filming of workers or streets to protect data privacy.
- €165,000 to Engibar for Molí Vell renovation.
- €3,000 aid to Retaule de Sant Ermengol and €40,000 for retaining wall.
La Seu d'Urgell town council has approved spending €10,000 on a time-lapse camera to document the construction of the new INEFC-Pirineus headquarters.
The contract, awarded to Barcelona-based company run by Jordi Huerta Ferran, will capture footage exclusively of the building site itself, Mayor Joan Barrera clarified. He emphasised that the recordings will avoid filming workers or surrounding streets to address potential data protection concerns.
Barrera struggled to fully justify the expense when questioned by reporters, noting that the full two-year construction period would otherwise cost far more. The council is acting as a collaborator in the university centre's initiative, he added. The project will create an archival record of the build and a video for the official inauguration.
In other decisions from the recent local government board meeting, the council awarded Engibar a €165,000 contract to renovate the Molí Vell. It also granted €3,000 in funding to the Retaule de Sant Ermengol organisation, helping secure next summer's performance after financial difficulties nearly threatened the traditional event this year.
The council will sign an agreement with the Associació Pessebre Vivent, and it approved nearly €40,000 for a retaining wall along the Camí de la Bastida.
