Lleida-Alguaire Airport welcomed the first 117 Swedish tourists of the season yesterday, all bound for ski resorts in Andorra.
The group arrived on a charter flight from Gothenburg and, after collecting their luggage, boarded two buses for the journey to the Pyrenean principality, where they plan to spend a week skiing.
The visitors travelled with Quality Travel, Sweden's leading ski tourism operator for Andorra. One tourist highlighted the convenience of the route in a video shared by local outlet Segre, noting that the flight lasted just two hours and 40 minutes.
"Flying here is very convenient," the tourist said. Another added that friends had praised the quality of skiing in Andorra, prompting the group to make the trip.
The airport, located about two hours' drive from Andorra's main ski areas such as Grandvalira and Vallnord, serves as a key gateway for northern European visitors during the winter season. This early arrival signals the start of what tourism officials hope will be a strong influx of Scandinavian skiers.
