A winning ticket from Spain's National Lottery draw 042 on Saturday has brought €600,000 to Andorra la Vella, with the full series of the top prize number 70272 sold at a local outlet.

The prize-winning tickets were validated at El Mag, a lottery administration at Doctor Nequi Street 2, in the historic centre near Plaça de les Arcades. Each of the 10 décimos from the series carries €60,000, according to data from Spain's State Lotteries and Betting agency. The same number was also sold at outlets in Barcelona, Sevilla and Maó, resulting in multiple winners across Spain.

Àngel Garcia, the outlet's owner, said the win has gone to "needy people from the neighbourhood" and regular local customers. The tickets arrived at the shop on Monday morning the previous week—not among the numbers the outlet typically subscribes to—and sold quickly over the counter to people from the area.

On Monday, several winners visited to check their tickets and share their excitement. Garcia noted that about half a dozen had stopped by, including long-time clients who buy a décimo every Monday for the following Saturday draw. Among them were two regulars unaware of their win until they presented the tickets; staff played along with the checking process for added celebration, complete with cheers and a bottle of cava.

"Already happy with the congratulations," Garcia said, adding that the outlet has given out significant prizes before, such as in the Primitiva, but nothing like this for the National Lottery. One winner was a personal friend who is ill and had no idea. The windfall has delighted at least 10 local families, boosting business as neighbours came by to celebrate and buy more tickets.
