**Police arrest seven drivers and others for alcohol offences and related violations across Andorra**

Andorran police arrested seven drivers over several days this week for serious alcohol-related traffic offences, alongside two additional detentions for false identification and counterfeit currency use. Courts imposed conditional night-time arrests requiring addiction treatment at the Unitat de Conductes Addictives (UCA) in multiple cases.

A 37-year-old resident on a motorcycle tested at just over 2 grams of alcohol per litre of blood when stopped Tuesday night at the Josep Escaler roundabout on Avinguda Tarragona in Andorra la Vella. As a repeat offender charged with a crime against public safety, he received a one-month conditional night-time arrest on Wednesday, contingent on UCA treatment.

Early Wednesday morning near the Prada Casadet roundabout in Andorra la Vella, around 2-4am, a 24- or 25-year-old multirecidivist resident tested at 1.52 grams per litre during a check. Officers had observed him attempting to evade them by entering a parking area, fleeing the vehicle and hiding before locating him. He refused a drug test, insulted and threatened officers with death, resisted arrest, kicked out a rear window of the patrol car, damaged a door frame—valued by urgent expert assessment at over €3,000—and harmed furniture including a table at police headquarters while assaulting an agent. Charged with crimes against public safety, honour, liberty, physical integrity, qualified damage, plus penalties for mistreatment and disobedience, he faced six months of conditional night-time arrest and UCA treatment, suspended for two years.

Tuesday morning in Incles, a 30-year-old woman entered the CG-2 from Camí del Pont against traffic, mounted the kerb and nearly struck a barrier and lamppost. She registered 2.02 grams per litre and was detained for a public safety offence.

Wednesday night in Ordino, a 56-year-old man hit a vertical sign at the Aldosa roundabout, drove into the village and tested at 1.77 grams per litre following a neighbour's alert to a traffic officer.

Police also stopped a 31-year-old motorcyclist Wednesday evening on the CG-2 near Racons for driving with a suspended licence and overtaking on a solid line, charging him with a crime against public function.

Separate incidents involved false identities: a 28-year-old tourist at the Franco-Andorran border and, newly reported, a 35-year-old tourist Tuesday morning at Pas de la Casa caught with 12 fake €50 notes after attempting payments at two establishments. Both faced charges of crimes against security in legal traffic proceedings.
