Customs and police officers seized 5,130 packs of tobacco and 8.5 kilograms of shredded tobacco (picadura) in Pas de la Casa, a haul valued at more than €20,570. Two French-registered vehicles found at the scene were impounded.

The operation began Sunday night when customs agents on surveillance patrol spotted two cars parked in the town that were loaded with bags of tobacco. After confirming the quantity, customs alerted the police, who requisitioned the vehicles and confiscated all the merchandise.
