Police detained a pair of tourists shortly after midnight after a violent, alcohol-fuelled altercation in their hotel room in central Andorra la Vella. The hotel receptionist alerted officers after hearing the couple shouting and fighting in the room on Prat de la Creu.
When officers arrived they found the two — a 24-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, both French — highly agitated and visibly intoxicated. Police noted scratches and traces of blood on both, consistent with wounds they had apparently inflicted on each other.
Authorities, noting evidence of mutual aggression and that the injuries were not serious, arrested the pair and charged them with reciprocal offences against physical integrity for causing wounds.
