PS Deputy Files Request for Detailed Rental Subsidy Data Since 2023 Amid Eligibility Complaints

Pere Baró, deputy president and general councillor for the social democratic parliamentary group (PS), has filed an information request with the government via the Sindicatura, seeking comprehensive data on rental housing subsidies since 2023.

The petition demands yearly totals for applications, along with details on those admitted, approved, or rejected, including the main reasons for denials. It also requires profiles of applicants and beneficiaries, broken down by age, family structure, parish of residence, and household income levels.

PS officials state the move addresses recent public unease, especially over updated eligibility rules that have excluded some previous recipients from renewing their subsidies. The party wants metrics to gauge the reach and performance of housing policies in meeting community demands.

In a press release, the PS highlighted its dedication to housing issues and the importance of scrutinizing current aid programs amid these complaints. The request explicitly notes concerns that revised criteria are preventing many existing beneficiaries from continuing to receive support.
