Andorra's Espot and Tor to Attend UN General Assembly in New York

Andorra's head of government, Xavier Espot, and Foreign Affairs Minister Imma Tor will attend the United Nations General Assembly's High-Level Week in New York from September 21 to 26.

Government spokesperson Guillem Casal confirmed the trip on Wednesday, noting that Espot plans to speak before the assembly on September 23. The address will take place during the general debate of the 81st session at 5 p.m. New York time, under the theme "Restoring trust and managing transformation for the United Nations to deliver results for all." The session is chaired by former Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman and coincides with the final year of UN Secretary-General António Guterres's term.

Espot and Tor will participate in multiple side events, including those organized by the Secretary-General's Special Representative for Children in Armed Conflict, which aligns with Andorra's diplomatic priorities.

Espot is also scheduled to speak on September 25 at the second High-Level Meeting of Small European States, hosted by Cyprus. The event builds on an Andorran initiative from May 2025 during the Small States Games, which brought together leaders to coordinate responses to global challenges. Attendees will include representatives from Monaco, San Marino, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Iceland, Cyprus, and Andorra.

The delegation will hold bilateral meetings and sign cooperation agreements with officials from several countries.
