Andorra's Social Democrats file total amendment against €2.6 million budget allocation for Andorra Digital
The Social Democratic Parliamentary Group (GPS) submitted a total amendment motion on Wednesday to the government's 2026 budget modification bill, opposing €2,608,196.71 in funding for the operating expenses of public company Andorra Digital S.A.
Lawmakers from the opposition argue for a comprehensive review of the company's model before any further public funds are committed. They maintain that new public entities must fully justify their necessity, operations, costs, and place within the public administration.
The group contends that Andorra Digital delivers no real added value, overlaps with existing structures, and threatens public oversight and transparency. GPS stresses that public resources demand handling with maximum transparency, rigor, and efficiency.
Group president Susanna Vela highlighted the motion's alignment with the party's longstanding stance. She pointed out that in October 2025, social democrats had lodged a similar total amendment against the legislation creating Andorra Digital S.A., raising the same concerns over its lack of value.
