The Sindicat d’Habitatge d’Andorra (SHA) is preparing a run of demonstrations through the end of the year, beginning with a rally on Thursday 5 November at 7:30 pm at Plaça de la Rotonda in Andorra la Vella, ahead of the expected unfreezing of rents in January 2027.

The group says the first gathering will be largely symbolic and will mark the third anniversary of the housing movement, while also serving as the occasion to announce its next mobilisations. According to SHA spokesperson Rebeca Bonache, the aim is to apply pressure and organise collectively in an effort to change a law that, in her words, will leave many people without a home and force others to leave the country.

Bonache told the Diari d’Andorra that she still believes there is time to influence the legislation if people organise and take to the streets to defend their right to decent, affordable and stable housing. She added that the group expects as many people as possible to come forward for information and to put forward ideas.

The SHA is present this weekend at the Fira d’Andorra la Vella to spread its position and set out details of the 5 November event.

The rally follows several months of lower activity over the summer and early autumn. The group had already indicated at a gathering in La Seu d’Urgell that action around the Puríssima holiday period was not ruled out.

Under the slogan “Continuem lluitant per l’habitatge digne, assequible i estable”, the SHA says its demands remain unmet and that the housing problem is not only unresolved but becoming more intense and complex.
