Interior and Justice Minister Ester Molné provided the data in response to a parliamentary query from Susanna Vela, head of the Social Democratic group in the General Council. The trend has remained upward since 2022, when 1,063 approvals were granted, rising to 1,167 in 2023. Post-rule changes, numbers climbed more gradually to 1,203 in 2024 and 1,273 in 2025. By early 2026, another 351 requests have been accepted.
Over 2022-2025, totals reached 4,706 approvals. Spaniards topped the list with 1,627 cases (35%), followed by French nationals at 402, Andorrans at 379, and Portuguese at 216. Latin Americans showed strong presence: Argentinians (377), Colombians (343), and Peruvians (144). Italians (137) and Russians (121) also exceeded 100 each.

Sectors hiring domestic staff dominated with 583 approvals last year, followed by construction (143), hospitality (115), other businesses (61), commerce (51), and health or veterinary services (35).
Separate reporting on 2025 approvals by beneficiary nationality showed Spaniards at 419, French at 137, Colombians at 119, and Argentinians at 83, though full four-year aggregates align with ministry figures. Authorities have not reconciled the apparent discrepancy in breakdowns.
