Andorra's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has managed 31 consular cases in just one week since the escalation of conflict in the Middle East, surpassing the 25 cases handled throughout 2025.
Minister Imma Tor provided the update on social media, noting that the cases involve Andorran citizens and residents in the region affected by the hostilities triggered last Saturday by US and Israeli strikes on Iran. Of these, five have been closed, including two resolved with support from French consular services. Six individuals are now en route to Europe, with flights scheduled for today. The ministry continues efforts to assist all those impacted.
Tor stressed that "the safety of Andorrans and residents is our absolute priority," echoing earlier statements amid the crisis. The sharp rise underscores the situation's severity, as the 2025 total—detailed by Consular Affairs Department official Guillem Pons—included assistance for issues like lost passports, natural disasters, and personal accidents. That year, officials issued 19 safe-conduct passes to facilitate returns to the Principat.
In a government social media video, the ministry outlined its emergency role and urged travellers to register in advance for quicker support. It also recommended following destination countries' advice, consulting official sources, and using the consular emergency line at 324 292.
The Consular Affairs Department maintains ongoing contact with Andorrans in the Middle East.
