Andorra's Superior Council of Justice has renewed Alexandra Terés Erich's role as a *batlle* for a third term as a first-instance judge, effective 15 April and running until 2032, in line with article 68(3) of the Qualified Law of Justice.

The Andorran judge, who joined the judicial career in 2006 as a court clerk after practising as a lawyer, first renewed that position before advancing to *batlle* at the Batllia in 2014. She has mainly worked as a criminal instructor in general, specialised or reinforcement capacities, and has served on the electoral board on at least two occasions. This is her second renewal in the *batlle* role.

The decision comes after Terés challenged the selection of Catalan judge Míriam de Rosa for a full-time magistrate position at the Tribunal de Corts. She filed a preliminary unconstitutionality claim, contending it conflicted with judicial Andorranisation efforts. Terés had implicit backing from figures such as magistrate Alfons Alberca and Andorran judge at the European Court of Human Rights Canòlic Mingorance. The Superior Tribunal's plenary rejected the claim decisively at the end of January, after which she chose not to appeal to the Constitutional Tribunal and withdrew from the Corts contest.

No conflicts arose with judicial leadership during her tenure as lead instructor, despite tensions over the external merit competition for the magistrate post. Discussions on judicial appointments persist in Andorra.
