The Social Democratic Parliamentary Group (PS) has submitted a written request to the Andorran government for the supporting memorandum behind traffic changes on Carrer de la Unió, part of the CG-3 road, as local residents, citizens and business owners voice growing concerns over the impacts.

Susanna Vela, PS parliamentary group president, made the request during a parliamentary intervention on Wednesday, demanding access to technical reports, decision-making criteria and details on the reconfiguration of traffic flow. The opposition wants clarity on the technical and political motivations, stated goals and expected outcomes, including improvements in traffic flow, road safety and local economic activity.

The PS argues that such a memorandum should detail the rationale, supporting criteria and projected results to determine if the measures reflect rigorous mobility planning rather than ad hoc decisions. Vela emphasised the government's duty to explain changes affecting daily commutes, noting that transparency is a democratic requirement.

She added that mobility policies must fit within a broader strategy guided by technical standards and public interest, and called for evidence of underlying studies justifying the reorganisation.

The government must now respond and provide the requested documentation. No reply has been issued as of Thursday morning.
