PS Deputy Demands Detailed Rental Subsidy Records from Andorra Government

Pere Baró, deputy president and general councillor of the social democratic parliamentary group (PS), has submitted an information request to the government through the Sindicatura, demanding detailed records on rental housing subsidies from 2023 to the present.

The request seeks a full overview of subsidy management, including annual totals for applications, along with breakdowns of those admitted, approved, or rejected, and the primary reasons for denials. It also calls for applicant and beneficiary profiles, segmented by age, family composition, parish of residence, and household income distribution.

PS leaders say the initiative responds to recent citizen concerns, particularly over changes to eligibility criteria that have prevented some prior recipients from renewing their aid. The party aims to gather indicators for assessing the scope and effectiveness of public housing policies in addressing local needs.

In a statement, the PS underscored its ongoing commitment to the housing sector and the need to evaluate how well existing programs function amid these reported issues.
