The LÚDIC Canillo programme concluded its 2026 season today with a 32.4% increase in participants, rising from 74 children in 2025 to 92 children and 6 adults, for a total of 98 people.

This growth has solidified the initiative as a leading family leisure sports offering in the Canillo parish, with sessions tailored to different ages and schedules. Children aged 3 to 6 took part in Sunday skiing, with 38 participants. For those aged 7 to 16, options included Saturday groups (19 participants), Sunday groups (24 participants), and full weekend sessions (11 participants). A new Sunday adult group attracted 6 participants, enhancing the multi-generational aspect.

The parish council subsidises 40% to 60% of the costs and partners with Creand, Grandvalira, and local sports shops to promote snow sports in a natural setting.

Councillor for Childhood, Youth and Sports Laura Riba welcomed the results, saying the rise in activities and numbers confirms the programme addresses a genuine need among local families for quality educational and sporting options in a secure environment. She added that one key aim was to aid family work-life balance and make snow sports accessible across ages, with outcomes showing progress in that direction. Riba emphasised the adult group for boosting the family-oriented nature of the project and enabling shared snow experiences between generations.

The parish council expressed strong satisfaction with the season's achievements in advancing leisure sports participation.
