The Pas de la Casa night trial ski mountaineering race took place on Saturday, April 4, marking its 28th edition after a three-year absence since 2023 and serving as the closing event of the Morabanc Andorra Cup.

Organised by Club Pirinenc Andorrà, the uphill-only time trial covered 1.7km with 420m of positive elevation gain, starting from the base of the four-person chairlift and climbing to Coll Blanc along the lift line. Race director Neus Cervera described the demanding course as "very explosive," noting the current record stands just under 16 minutes and is tough to beat.

Entries were capped at 50 participants, with mandatory advance registration via the Topchrono website by 5pm on race day. Bib collection was available Friday from 9am to 2pm at the Pas de la Casa sports centre, or on Saturday at the start area for late entrants. Fees were €15 for ski mountaineering school students, €25 for club members, and €35 for others—the higher rate covering a one-day federation licence, Cervera explained.

Under-14 and under-16 categories started at 6pm, followed by other groups at 6:30pm. Club vice-president Roc Adan called the event "mythical" and emphasised its revival to attract a wide range of competitors, from seasoned racers to newcomers. Organisers shifted it from an early-season opener to the finale, allowing school students a full winter to develop skills and tackle it as their season highlight.

Federació Andorrana de Muntanyisme manager Ludovic Albós anticipated strong turnout to cap the season, while Encamp councillor for Finance, Sports and Economic Reactivation Nino Marot praised the excellent snow conditions and expressed hope they would persist.

The event was announced earlier in the week by Cervera, Adan, Albós and Marot, who highlighted plans to revitalise the historic race and encourage youth participation.
