FC Andorra Edges Cádiz 1-0 with Cerdà's Curler in Liga Hypermotion Clash

FC Andorra secured a 1-0 victory over Cádiz at the JP Financial Estadi in Cádiz on Sunday, with Josep Cerdà scoring the decisive goal in the 35th minute. The win moves the Tricolors to 49 points in 11th place in the Liga Hypermotion, nine points clear of relegation and nine behind the play-off spots with seven matches remaining.

Cerdà, playing as a mobile forward, collected a pass from Dani Villahermosa on the edge of the box, evaded Kouamé with a deft turn, and curled a shot into the far corner for his eighth goal of the season and third in consecutive games. He now shares the team lead in scoring with Lautaro de León.

The match began slowly, with little rhythm in the opening 20 minutes. FC Andorra's first chance came from a long-range effort by Marc Domènech that forced a save from Víctor Aznar. Efe Akman headed wide from a Carrique cross soon after. Cádiz responded with a centred shot from Jerónimo Dómina that Owono gathered easily, before Cerdà's strike broke the deadlock.

Cádiz hit the post through Álvaro García Pascual shortly after, but FC Andorra controlled proceedings to halftime under coach Carles Manso. Absent were Sergio Molina due to pubic discomfort and Álex Calvo with a longer-term issue; Lautaro was sidelined for around six weeks with a left hamstring injury confirmed that morning.

The second half saw Cádiz push forward after Sergio González substituted Brian Ocampo for the booked Kouamé at halftime. Minsu missed a chance to double the lead, slaloming past defenders before shooting straight at Aznar. Cádiz created pressure through set pieces and late introductions of Lucas Pérez and Suso, with Owono making key saves on Pérez's header and Suso's long-range strike.

Manso made changes around the 65th minute, bringing on Yeray Cabanzón for Minsu, followed by Manu Nieto, Théo Le Normand, and Petxa. Yeray hit the post late on, while Cádiz pressed with corners and even pushed up Aznar, but Owono held firm.

Yellow cards went to Alende and Minsu for FC Andorra, and Kouamé, Ocampo, Álex Fernández, and Recio for Cádiz. Attendance was 13,655.

Manso praised the defensive resilience: "It was impossible not to suffer here. Our work without the ball was outstanding—a triumph of maturity." The result extends FC Andorra's unbeaten run to four games away from home since February 13 and marks their sixth win in nine outings, bringing 20 of the last 27 points. They host Real Valladolid next.
