The Spanish Football Federation's (RFEF) disciplinary committee has fined FC Andorra €12,000 for inadequate oversight of aggressive behaviour towards officials during last Wednesday's 3-3 draw with Málaga at Nou Estadi de la FAF in Encamp.
Referee Alejandro Ojaos Valera recorded the details in his match report. At halftime in the tunnel leading to the dressing rooms, Gerard Piqué—majority owner via Kosmos Global Holding but holding no formal executive position—confronted assistant referee Christian García Andreu. Piqué raised his voice, pointed his index finger within centimetres of the official's face, and repeatedly described the refereeing as "a historic robbery," warning he would publicise it on social media. He also directed offensive remarks at Málaga players, requiring intervention from club staff and security to separate the parties.
The penalty invokes Article 114 of the RFEF disciplinary code, which addresses "passive repression of violent, xenophobic, and intolerant conduct," with fines ranging from €6,001 to €18,000.
This marks the fourth sanction against FC Andorra this season for similar episodes, accumulating over €40,000 in penalties: €6,001 against Mirandés, €9,000 against Leganés in October, and another €9,000 against Deportivo de La Coruña in December. Although the RFEF warned of escalated measures for recidivism—including stadium closures for three matches or two months, suspensions of one to two years or at least four matches, or three-point deductions under Article 93.1—no such steps have been applied to date.
